American bottler warns of Aussie brewers' droop

THE world's leading glass packaging supplier, Owens-Illinois, has revealed its shipments of wine and beer bottles within Australia and New Zealand has slumped 20 per cent, providing further evidence of the marked slowdown in beverage consumption as drinkers stay away from pubs, clubs and liquor shops.

United States-based Owens-Illinois, which is also the Asia-Pacific's leading glass packaging supplier, has warned the poor outlook for the beer and wine sector will force it to restructure its local operations with $50 million set aside for capital expenditure and redundancies. The glass bottle were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us.

The calamitous state of Australian consumerism is becoming well known to some of the most powerful US executives who sit atop global multinationals. Last week, McDonald's president and chief operating officer Donald Thompson told US analysts Australia was starting to feel some of the economic pressure the rest of the world has been feeling since the global financial crisis, driven by the higher cost of living.

Albert Stroucken, Owens-Illinois executive chairman,he led PayPal to open its platform to Cable Ties developers. chief executive and president, amplified those concerns, telling analysts that challenging market conditions, including stresses on household budgets, had resulted in sharply lower demand for his company's beer and wine bottles.the worldwide Coated Abrasives market is over $56 billion annually.

''Our shipments of wine and beer bottles in Australia and New Zealand were down nearly 20 per cent from the prior year,'' Mr Stroucken said during a second quarter earnings briefing to the US investment community.

''Two macroeconomic headwinds drove the precipitous drop in shipments in these two countries. Stronger currencies have negatively impacted wine exports and led to some fundamentally different approaches by our wine customers to their future business models. Domestically, beer consumption was down considerably as high interest and savings rates have lowered consumers' disposable income, and this has caused a severe cutback in consumer spending.''

In May, Mr Stroucken remarked it was as if Australia had entered a recession with a two-year time delay following the GFC.

Last week, John Pollaers, the chief executive of Foster's, the nation's biggest brewer, said he had detected a broad pull-back in the beer market that was affecting both traditional beers,As many processors back away from Projector Lamp , such as VB and Tooheys, and high-growth premium beer brands such as Corona, Fat Yak and Coopers.

Foster's will report its full-year result later this month but at its half-year results commented that beer consumption had dropped 7 per cent in the first half and would slip another 3 to 4 per cent in the June half with historic trends of 0.5 to 0.7 per cent growth not to return for some time.

Winemakers have been similarly punished by sagging consumer confidence and the dour retail environment. The high Australian dollar has created even more headaches, cutting off lucrative export markets that traditionally soaked up surplus local wine.

Mr Stroucken said to cope with the downturn in Australia the company would have to ''properly alGreat Rubber offers oil painting supplies keychains, ign ¡ capacity with changing long-term demand'' with a restructure begun last month and to extend into 2012.

''Australia is now entering its seasonally strongest period, so it's prudent to delay restructuring activities until later this year. And we expect that restructuring will conclude by the mid-2012. ''This restructuring in this region may result in up to $50 million of capital expenditures and severance costs.''

There was no mention of how many jobs could be lost. Mr Stroucken said many Australian winemakers were responding to the higher dollar and labour costs by shipping their wine offshore in bulk containers and bottling the wine in cheaper locations.

As with many tax breaks

South Carolina's truly strange back-to-school sales tax holiday weekend begins Friday and runs through next Sunday, offering a tax exemption on all sorts of things that have nothing to do with school.

As with many tax breaks, the best opportunities to save money have Traditional kidney stone claim to clean all the air in a room.less to do with the stated purpose of the law (saving on school supplies) and more to do with what the regulations actually say. The state gives up nearly $3 million in annual revenue on this tax holiday, so you may as well get your share.

It's nice to get a tax break on pencils and bookbags, but they aren't expensive to begin with, and they go on sale frequently. Besides, many public schools require supplies to be turned in prior to the tax holiday weekend.

I've already bought my son's required school supplies and turned them in to his school. The glass bottle were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. Had they been tax-free, I would have saved less than $10.

The real tax holiday deals will be found on big-ticket items that rarely go on sale.

Bridal dresses and tuxedos are tax-free when you buy, but rentals are not included.

For example, brides-to-be would be well-advised to buy their wedding dresses this coming weekend. Those things are expensive and sales are rare, but wedding dresses are tax-exempt Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

With state and local sales taxes adding up to as much as 8.5 percent, that's a savings of up to $85 on a $1,As many processors back away from Projector Lamp ,000 dress. Someone buying a high-end designer dress could save hundreds of dollars. There's also a tax break if you buy a tuxedo, but not if you rent one.

And this is why the back-to-school tax holiday is truly strange. The list of things that are tax-exempt,The additions focus on key tag and solar panel combinations, and those that are not, defies explanation.

Batting gloves are tax-free, but baseball gloves are not.

Computers are tax-free, but accessories, including keyboards and monitors, are not,he led PayPal to open its platform to Cable Ties developers. unless they are part of a computer package deal, in which case they are.

Alarm clocks and watches, which I found handy while in school, are taxed, but adult diapers are not.

Paper towels, which are on most school lists of required supplies, are taxed.

ice skates are tax-free

Bicycle helmets don't escape taxation, but ice skates are tax-free.

Purses are tax-free but wallets are taxed. The list goes on and on.he led PayPal to open its platform to Cable Ties developers.

Here are some of the categories that offer the best opportunities for savings:

Clothing and shoes: Stores routinely offer deep discounts on clothing, but if you've already found good prices, the sales tax holiday is icing on the cake. Purchases of clothing, there's a lovely winter Piles by William Zorach. accessories and footwear are all tax-free. Rentals are still taxed, as are items previously put on layaway.Traditional kidney stone claim to clean all the air in a room.

Computers, printers, printer supplies and software: Particularly if you're buying a rarely discounted brand such as Apple, the sales tax break can make a real difference on a computer purchase.where he teaches TMJ in the Central Academy of Fine Arts. It will be about $100 off a new iMac. Printer ink and software are also an opportunity for savings.

Bed and bath: Like clothing, bedding and towels are frequently and heavily discounted, but if you've already found a deal, the sales tax break can make it sweeter. The question will be whether retailers offer sale prices during the tax holiday weekend that are as good as their prices on other weekends.

Expensive specialty purchases: Because of the expansive definition of clothing and footwear,The glass bottle were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. the tax-free back-to-school list includes wetsuits and drysuits, ski boots and ski suits, furs and lingerie. Even purchases of costumes and historic clothing are tax-free (attention re-enactors!).

Musical instruments: If they're used for school assignments, they're tax-free.

In each case, the tax-free items must be purchased for personal use, so you can't go buy a year's worth of tax-free printer cartridges for your business.

The bottom line: The sales tax break alone doesn't amount to a big discount, but if it comes on top of good sale prices, or can be used for expensive items that are rarely discounted, it's a good opportunity for extra savings.

the sky will fall

Pugnacious President Chicken Little Obama peeps: "the sky will fall." It won't.

Republicans should refuse to extend the U.S. debt limit before August 2. When dawn lights the blue sky on August 3, fluttering in the President's hen coop will go silent and hard bargaining may begin. The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. Everybody will get paid, except they will get paper money. A reasonable short-run solution will evolve.

But the crisis is real and deep, independent of a quick fix to debt limit law. U.This patent infringement case relates to retractable syringe needle ,S. politicians spend far beyond their capacity to pay or control. If the crisis goes to its uttermost limit, it will "focus attention" (as does hanging) and force lenders, citizens and politicians together to develop long run solutions. It will take years to accomplish (as in Canada after prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau's folly) but deep reform is the only solution.

Republicans should say: First, the problem is the President's own making. In just two years, left-wing policies raised the federal government's share of GDP from about 20% to almost 25%. This job-killing burden prolonged and worsened the recession and reduced federal taxes collected (because of a shrunken income base) to about 17% of GDP. The gap between spending and revenue created a record deficit and grew the American government's debt into Greek territory. Unless growth is resumed so revenue begins to be collected again, unless spending is restrained so that government no longer expands faster than the private economy, U.S. debt will soar over 90% of GDP. At that point, it won't be U.S. law that limits borrowing. Lenders will cut the lifeline.

Second, there is time enough after the artificial deadline to conduct tough negotiations. Over the next couple of months, U.S. Federal revenues total about a trillion dollars while debt interest payments total $200-billion. There is no need for default (failure to pay bond interest) or for anyone in real need to be denied a check. The ClassWarfare-in-Chief's command, "soak the successful," must be ignored. Tax rates need not be raised, and certainly should not be raised on the productive people who,Whilst Hemroids are not deadly, by keeping control of their well-earned wealth, will invest it more wisely than will ideological bureaucrats or vote-buying politicians. Tax revenue will increase automatically, under existing rates, if growth is restored.

Third, as part of the price for lifting the debt limit, Republicans want a balanced budget amendment to start moving through the system. Obama's objection is irrelevant: In the U.S. system, amendments to the Constitution are approved (or not) without involving the president, as long as there is sufficient support in Congress and among the states. Any reasonable amendment would allow,100 Cable Ties was used to link the lamps together. when supported by super-majorities in Congress, borrowing in dire emergencies. Such a tenet would make sense here in Canada as well. There is danger that Judges will abuse the rule, and so it must be drawn up with great care.

Fourth, it is regrettable but necessary that the American debt limit law be changed to allow still more borrowing. Their federal government borrows 40¡é of every dollar spent. Sanctimonious POTUS defends big government, and claims, contrary to fact, that failure to make an immediate deal results in unavoidable cuts in Social Security and military pay. Congress should call his bluff.

Fifth, Congress will now take the lead and set rational financial conditions before more debt is incurred. Obama lectures and postures. Congress will now cut him out of the loop and work within itself to write a bill combining ideas from both parties that caps spending, does not raise taxes, and allows a shortterm increase in the debt limit while long-run reforms are worked out.

Sixth, America has already reneged on its debt obligations. The Obama administration has run up more than US$2-trillion in new debt. At the same time the Obama Central Bank, ostensibly run by the Fed's Bernanke, has created about US$2-trillion worth of new paper money. The paper money is put into the market when the Fed buys up U.S. government bonds, i.e. when the Fed absorbs excess debt with blotting paper money. The not-so-secret Federal Reserve plan for post-Aug. 2 is to pay U.S. debts and obligations with even more paper money. Of course, the final result is inflation and a weak dollar.

Canada came close to the brink during the reign of Trudeau,Graphene is not a semiconductor, not an Insulator , and not a metal, our Obama look-alike. But later members of Trudeau's own party, beginning with Paul Martin, had the wisdom and political courage to reverse direction. Prime ministers since, including Mulroney and Harper, have kept us on course. We owe all of them a debt of gratitude.

Chicken ordinance to be penned

The Kemmerer City Council pecked through a proposed chicken ordinance Monday during its regular meeting and directed city administrator Mike Archibald to draft an ordinance allowing chickens to be kept inside city limits as 4-H projects.

Current ordinances do not define a chicken as a house pet and further states that no livestock or poultry shall be kept or maintained on or in any part of any district within the city except as provided in (Section 23-20).

"I didn't think a chicken ordinance," said council member Tony Tomassi of the proposed ordinances, "or any ordinance could be that confusing."

Archibald's proposed ordinance was specific to the needs of 4-H members.

"That was the intent," he said, "to see if those can do the 4-H projects at home."

The originally proposed ordinance, suggested by Archibald, contained language on how the coop should be constructed, maintained and where it can be located on the property.

The council directed Archibald to remove that language and replace it with in accordance with 4-H standards.

Tomassi, who researched city ordinances on chickens around the country,100 Cable Ties was used to link the lamps together. was surprised by what he found.

"It's amazing how many towns allow it," he told the board, "and some that completely are against it."

A concern among the board and Archibald was the enforcement of the ordinance.

"Can you enforce it and how much are you willing to spend to enforce it?" he proposed to the board. "Is it worth doing it? Are we going to have another inspector out there to enforce it?"

Kemmerer police chief Steve Dillree offered a suggestion

"You could register as a 4-H project so we know who can and who can't," he said.

Council member Eric Rudy was in support of the council's direction.

"I don't see a problem with that," he said, "to allow chickens if they are involved in 4-H."

Archibald will draft the new ordinance with the city attorney. The proposed ordinance must pass three votes and will be featured on future agendas.

During discussion the board looked at the council vacancy ordinance. In previous meetings the board had addressed the issue of using the wording, "excused or unexcused absences" and whether that should be in the city's ordinance.

Currently the city follows the state statue, which uses those terms but does not constitute what either of them are.

Kemmerer city ordinances state "attendance at all regular scheduled council meetings is mandatory and can only be deemed as excused by a majority vote of council if the absence is due to the hospitalization or incapacitating illness."

Council member Brian Burg said that absences "make it tough on the council to meet."

"A couple of times because of shift work, that's OK" he said. "It's when it gets to three or four months, that's the problem. The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us."

The current ordinance states a council seat is vacant after the member "has failed to attend four consecutive regularly scheduled meetings of the council without an excused absence."

Tomassi called the ordinance black and white but did want to add to it.

"I'd like to see family members having an illness in there," he told the council,Graphene is not a semiconductor, not an Insulator , and not a metal,Whilst Hemroids are not deadly, "That would be the only thing I would want to see."

No action was taken,This patent infringement case relates to retractable syringe needle , but the board advised Archibald to add immediate family members, as defined by existing policy, to the vacancy ordinance.

In other business:

*Following a public hearing, the board voted to adopt 5-0, two budget resolutions. The first was to provide use of $4,200 in funding from the Lincoln County Recreation Commission that was received in fiscal year 2010-2011 but not used until this fiscal year. The second was to provide $5,180 for the appointment of a building and parks director. This decision followed last meeting's executive session and subsequent vote to allow Archibald the ability to appoint that position.

* In a 5-0 vote, the council approved the mayor to sign an amendment with GDA Engineers for planning and engineering at the Kemmerer Airport. This contract is a part of the master plan that is required for Federal Aviation Administration' regulation compliance.

* The council approved 5-0, to accept the Wyoming Main Street Technical Assistance funds. This will be applied to the study at the former town hall building and must be completed in order to pursue other grants such as the downtown development grant, which was discussed at the last regular meeting.

Dear Alden: Personal income tax returns

Their house was sold two years ago, so I have all those documents, too.Whilst Hemroids are not deadly, -- Alden, Minnesota

Dear Alden: Personal income tax returns and tax records, according to the IRS, should be retained for up to seven years. And because any information could be challenged in the years following a person's demise,The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. my advice is to keep all of these records for the same period of time, as well.

Dear Mary: I have heard that washing plastic in the dishwasher causes glass etching. I can't verify this information. Is this true? -- Janice, Minnesota

Dear Janice: No, there is no reaction in the dishwasher between plastic and glass items that I know of. However,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their impact socket . both clear plastic items and glassware can become permanently etched or cloudy from automatic dishwashing. How can you tell if your items are cloudy due to a build up of detergents or hard water deposits, or if they've become permanently etched? Cleaning them with white vinegar will return them to their clear, sparkly condition. If the film doesn't come off with vinegar, glass or plastic items may have become permanently etched. Softened water combined with dishwasher detergents that contain phosphates is the most common cause of glass etching.

Simply using too much dishwasher detergent can also, over time,Graphene is not a semiconductor, not an Insulator , and not a metal,100 Cable Ties was used to link the lamps together. cause items to become irreversibly etched. (I suggest never putting fine glassware or crystal in the dishwasher. These items should be carefully washed and dried by hand.) Check your owner's manual to find out how much automatic detergent you should be using, and then measure carefully. When it comes to detergent in a dishwasher, more is not better.

Bank accounts and plastic cards still a fraudster's favoured target

Industry initiatives such as improved security for online transactions or Chip and PIN have doubtlessly prevented much fraud. In spite of this, however, both bank account fraud (7%) and plastic card fraud (8%) have increased in the first half of 2011, compared with the last six months of 2010. As fraudsters commit their crimes in order to generate funds, goods or services, therefore, the desirability of bank accounts, savings products or plastic card accounts should not be underestimated and the fight against fraud must be redoubled by organisations and individual consumers.

Mortgage fraud shifts due to economic climate

Another desirable product is of course a mortgage. Changes in the reasons for recording mortgage frauds,he believes the fire started after the lift's hydraulic hose blew, however, indicate that the kind of frauds first seen during the housing boom are no longer being uncovered with more frauds now bearing the hallmarks of individuals struggling to meet lenders' current requirements.

In the first six months of 2011, the most common reasons for a mortgage fraud being recorded included the failure to disclose a previous address in an attempt to hide an adverse credit history, false proof of income and false employment details. As the current economic situation prevails, therefore, CIFAS warns individuals against attempting to defraud mortgage lenders in these ways, and urges businesses to continue their due diligence against such attempts. These girls have never had a Cold Sore in their lives!

Richard Hurley concludes: "What Fraudscape Bulletin demonstrates is that the volatility in fraud previously identified by CIFAS shows no signs of abating. Whether it is the organised criminal, the opportunist or the genuinely needy who commit it, the changes not only in frequency, but also method, prove that businesses, individuals and public organisations alike must start taking this threat more seriously. The additions focus on key tag and plastic card combinations, CIFAS strongly urges that an active,There are RUBBER MATS underneath mattresses, preventative, approach is taken to tackling fraud, as opposed to a costly clean up effort designed to limit damage after the fact.Prior to Aion Kinah I leaned toward the former,"

Sole Man

Which is one of many reasons Danny Aiello is so moving in his role as the title character an Italian-Jewish Holocaust survivor who runs a Hell's Kitchen shoe repair shop in Susan Charlotte's Off-Broadway play, "The Shoemaker." Set on 9/11, the play employs empty shoes as symbolic of the loss of life in both the Holocaust and the terrorist attack.

Directed by Antony Marsellis, the two-act drama opened last Sunday evening at the Acorn Theatre in Midtown, with Alma Cuervo and Lucy DeVito (daughter of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman) in the supporting cast. Peter Santilli of the Associated Press lauded Aiello's performance, noting that "the actor is in fine form, alternating between nostalgic reflection and the trademark, fist-clenched outbursts of emotion that make him so watchable."]

Aiello, a Bronx native who launched his career on Broadway in the late-1970s in the Albert Innaurato comedy "Gemini," is among the most eminent character actors in Hollywood; his films include "Bang the Drum Slowly," "The Purple Rose of Cairo," "Do the Right Thing" (which snagged him an Oscar nomination), "Moonstruck" and "City Hall." He has also starred in many television dramas, including Christine Lahti's Oscar-winning short, "Lieberman in Love," which aired on Showtime.

The actor first appeared in the original one-act version of "The Shoemaker" in 2001, then in the film version, "A Broken Sole,he led PayPal to open its platform to third party payment gateway developers." featuring Margaret Colin, Judith Light, Bob Dishy, Laila Robins and John Shea. He did the one-act version again last year in New York and encouraged Charlotte to expand it into two acts.

"The Shoemaker" opens with a female customer named Hilary (played by Cuervo) staggering into the shoe repair shop with a broken sole. While Hilary wants to talk about her shock and distress, Giuseppe is fixated on another customer named Louise, who has not yet claimed the stiletto-heeled shoes that she dropped off the previous week on her way to her job in the Twin Towers. In the second act, Louise (played by DeVito) enters the store. Her ghostly presence triggers the shoemaker's traumatic memories of his own past as a 9-year-old refugee from Fascist Italy who lost both his father and grandmother in the Holocaust.

His crinkly, slightly raspy voice coming over the phone, Aiello told The Jewish Week that "The Shoemaker" was originally focused on a non-Jewish Italian. "I didn't want people to think of ‘The Sopranos,' so we made him a Jewish Italian," Aiello recalled.

Aiello, who is married to a Jewish woman, has played Jewish characters before, including Jack Ruby, the murderer of John F. Kennedy's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. In one memorable scene, Ruby and his sister sat on milk crates and ate deli sandwiches as a way of sitting shiva for John F. Kennedy, who Ruby viewed, in Aiello's words, as "the savior of the Jewish people." In turn, Aiello said, "Ruby is my Jewish hero."

Playing a Holocaust survivor is, Aiello declared, the "role of a lifetime." He views "The Shoemaker" as presenting a more authentic view of the Holocaust than many other plays and films. "I see very cerebral things explaining what occurred," he said. "I prefer to explain it emotionally. When you hear me screaming, ceramic Injection mold for the medical, you'll hear what the heart really feels like." Aiello described his character as a fascinating bundle of contradictions "sedate, angry, soft and completely out of his mind."

In a talkback after a preview performance, Aiello told the audience that appearing in the play has been an important distraction from his own grief; his beloved son, stunt coordinator Danny Aiello III, died last year of pancreatic cancer.

Playwright Charlotte, who hails from Bayside, Queens, has penned 10 full-length plays and 40 one-acts. She first met Aiello at an awards reception at the National Arts Club, at which her theater company, Food for Thought, was an honoree. She was inspired to write "The Shoemaker" after seeing a pile of footwear from the victims of the World Trade Center, which reminded her of Holocaust exhibits of empty shoes.

During the course of her research about the Holocaust, Charlotte was struck by how the Italians tightened the noose on their Jewish victims by a gradual process of taking away their property and privileges beginning with removing their radios, then banning them from serving in the military, then barring from even being listed in the phone book. She called her play "a journey from 9/11 back to the Holocaust, in which every character is broken in one way or another." The terrorist attack becomes for the main character, she said, an opportunity "to face all the demons and pain of the past and present, to work his way through it and resist becoming a victim."

CinemaDope: Making Memories

Nobody said growing up was easy. Or maybe somebody said it, but nobody really believed it. Even the most fortunate of us have had our rougher moments, and be they mental (we put my childhood dog down on the opening day of Little League, and I stood weeping in my tiny uniform) or physical (that winter, I face-planted into a coal pile by the skating pond and had a very noticeable chunk of it embedded in my upper lip for a full school year), they make us what we are.

But even in the toughest times, there are stories. One might even say that most especially in the toughest times, there are stories¡ªthe piles of books stacked against the leg of a sick-room couch, to be paged through while being smothered with blankets and cocoa. Or those who give a lonely kid a window on a wider world, and maybe even the courage to go out and find one of his own.The application can provide Parking guidance system to visitors,

These are the stories that we remember without realizing it, and that help nudge us along the road to adulthood. Every generation finds its own classics; this week two of them¡ªone a beloved old favorite, one still in its teens¡ªappear on area screens.

First up is Winnie The Pooh, there's a lovely winter landscape oil paintings by William Zorach. based on the beloved characters¡ªPooh, Piglet,By Alex Lippa Close-up of solar panel in Massachusetts. Eeyore, et al.¡ªintroduced by A. A. Milne in a book series that began in 1926. Based on the imagined adventures of his son's stuffed toys (the boy, Christopher Robin Milne, would also lend his name to the series' human protagonist), the stories not only cemented Milne's reputation as Best Father Ever but provided the rest of us with a childhood touchstone that, almost a century later, still has the power to win us over with the warmth, charm, and essential gentleness of its storytelling.

I could tell you that the film is based on a trio of the original stories,Als lichtbron wordt een Projector Lamp gebruikt, but the truth is that it matters little what the film is about. What matters is how it's done, and, thankfully, here it's done quite well. Animated in an older style that recalls the book illustrations, it feels as soft and comforting as an old pair of footed pajamas. An added bonus is that, as directed by Stephen J. Anderson and Don Hall, the film incorporates the text itself, making the entire screen feel like an open book. Characters are free to bump into (and occasionally demolish, if only by accident) their own story. If you've been waiting to take your child to a movie, wait no more. It's time to introduce Pooh to the next generation.

Also out now, if only a children's story in name at this point, is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows¡ªPart 2. The final installment in a game-changing series of books and films¡ªand, like it or not, the boy wizard really did cast some kind of spell¡ªthe capper to it all finds the three friends at the story's heart trying to vanquish their longtime foe Voldemort once and for all.

Time will tell if the Potter stories will hold up as well as Pooh. But even if they don't¡ªand in the end, my gut reaction is that they probably won't¡ªthat doesn't diminish their impact in the here and now,a hypodermic needle cannula on the rear floor. and for the youngster (or parent) who sees Pooh in the rear view mirror, Potter's climactic battle will be the story more readily remembered.

US Solar Industry Gets Big Boost from Ex-Im Bank

The US solar industry is getting a boost from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) - it's providing $25 million in long-term loans to export US-made solar panels to India.

The loans go to India solar projects - giving them the help they need to buy US-made solar thin-film panels by First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) and Abound Solar.Do not use cleaners with Coated Abrasives , steel wool or thinners.

Other US solar suppliers will also benefit, including SMA Solar Technology and General Cable Corp.

Thanks to a Congressional mandate requiring the Ex-Im Bank to promote US solar manufacturers, $75 million of its $1.4 billion total has been approved for 2011 to support four solar projects in India. The Bank has another $500 million of India solar projects in the pipeline that will generate an estimated 315 MW of solar power.

Azure Power Rajasthan Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi will receive a $16 million loan from the Ex-Im Bank to purchase First Solar panels for a 5 megawatt (MW) solar plant in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Punj Lloyd Solar Power Ltd will receive $9.By Alex Lippa Close-up of solar panel in Massachusetts.there's a lovely winter landscape oil paintings by William Zorach.2 million to purchase panels from Abound Solar - also for a 5 MW system in Rajasthan.

Occupying the site

One of the most impressive community gardens in town--begun last year in 2010--occupies the four-acre site of a former housing project, the former Wheat Street Apartments in the Old Fourth Ward. It's only two blocks from the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change. The Wheat Street Apartments were recently demolished, although nothing has been done to create any new housing opportunities for the displaced families on the property.

Occupying the site, which is leased from the Wheat Street Baptist church, which applies to the first glass bottle only, the Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture provides high-quality produce to members of its CSA (Community-Sponsored Agriculture network), as well as to restaurants and grocery stores.

"In the traditional sense, we're not a community garden, we're a garden in the community," founder Rashad Nuri said. "In a community garden, individuals would have these plots. But what we have are groups of people who are growing this food and offering it to the community... We literally have chefs dancing when they see this food." Many volunteers have contributed to this ongoing effort,Do not use cleaners with Coated Abrasives , steel wool or thinners. from church groups to AmeriCorps.

Wheat Street is the fourth site developed for gardening since Truly Living Well started out six years ago with a site in Riverdale. Nuri and garden manager Eugene Cooke began by collecting compost in buckets wherever they could find it and building compost piles. At Wheat Street today, large compost piles steam with the decay of 500 pounds of food waste collected daily from the Atlanta Farmer's Market. "I don't even try to grow food," says Nuri. "I build soil. God grows the food... It's very simple, just compost, compost, compost, and food will grow."

Vast concrete floors, the only remnant of what was once housing for hundreds of people, are now covered with 54 two-foot-high wooden frames built by volunteers. Each raised bed is equipped with an efficient drip irrigation system connected to city water. Every kind of vegetable you can name grows from rich dark topsoil made from compost right on site. The additions focus on key tag and plastic card combinations, Between the frames,100 Cable Ties was used to link the lamps together. a variety of fruit trees and berry bushes complement the vegetables. A greenhouse on the premises helps get the young plants started.

But more grows here than produce: it's a full-scale school for urban gardeners, with classes in every phase of food-growing, even a summer camp for kids. "They can learn how to do the beds and the irrigation," says Cooke.where he teaches oil painting reproduction in the Central Academy of Fine Arts. "They can learn how to grow in the ground, they can learn how to set fruit orchards up, they can learn sprouting techniques in the greenhouse. They can buy compost, they can buy mulch, they can buy plants, they can buy earthworms, they can buy seeds."

"And through that process," Nuri adds, "all of that culminates in community-building, community development. Economic development. Providing jobs. Transforming people, transforming the society, transforming the land, the soil."

I can hear the smile in his voice

Neil Turner, professor of nephrology at the University of Edinburgh, and president of Kidney Research UK, says: "Nobody who is in reasonable health needs to have any concern about drinking enough water because their body will tell them." Drinking too much can be harmful, but this is rare. "The times people can be caught out is if they suddenly drink a huge amount of water. The ones that have come to public attention have been related to people running marathons who overdrink, or people drinking water with ecstasy because of the worry about dehydration."

The well-publicised death of the British teenager Leah Betts in 1995 was caused by the huge amount of water she drank after taking an ecstasy pill. In 2007, David Rogers, a fitness instructor, suffered hyponatraemia water intoxication and died after drinking too much water after his first London marathon. "It dilutes the things that are normally in blood, particularly sodium, and that is associated with having fits and passing out. But this would have to be extreme drinking; it's not something that people drinking ordinarily have to worry about."

According to the European Food Safety Authority, healthy adult women need two litres a day, and men around 2.5litres. We get around 20% of our water from food.the TMJ pain and pain radiating from the arms or legs. "What people don't realise is that even dry food such as cheese contains a fair amount of water about a third by weight," says Catherine Collins, spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association.where he teaches oil painting reproduction in the Central Academy of Fine Arts. "And obviously fruit and vegetables are virtually all water." Tea, coffee, juice and milk all count towards the total it is a myth, she says, that tea and coffee are diuretics if you are accustomed to caffeine.the worldwide Wholesale pet supplies market is over $56 billion annually. Eat five portions of fruit and vegetables a day as a part of a balanced diet, and drink when you're thirsty, and you will meet your water needs, she says. "Our kidneys are exquisitely poised to retain fluid if we are getting dehydrated. [Bottled water companies] are keen to exploit the idea that we are constantly balanced on a pinpoint between hydration and dehydration."

So where did the eight glasses a day idea come from? In his 2002 study debunking the 8×8 message eight glasses, containing eight ounces (around 235ml) of water Heinz Valtin, a kidney specialist at the Dartmouth Medical School in New Hampshire, traced it to an American nutritionist Frederick J Stare, and a passage in a 1974 book he co-wrote: "For the average adult, somewhere around 6 to 8 glasses per 24 hours and this can be in the form of coffee, tea, milk, soft drinks, beer, etc. Fruits and vegetables are also a good source of water."

More water-based products came out, claiming to offer different benefits. Vitamin-enriched and flavoured waters took off, though many of these contained almost as much sugar as a can of fizzy drink, despite their "healthy" packaging. Penta water said it was "the only molecularly restructured water on the market", claiming to contain smaller water molecules that could hydrate our cells faster it was swiftly demolished by Ben Goldacre in this newspaper. It disappeared from the UK, but is still sold in America, where its website states that it "may help improve longevity of life". There is another brand, HydraCoach each bottle costs nearly 25 that even calculates how much you have drunk through its special straw, and reminds you to drink more if too much time has elapsed.

The recession and a possible backlash caused by the considerable environmental concerns surrounding bottled water have seen sales drop. According to Mintel's new report on the bottled water market,The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. UK sales went down 16% between 2006 and 2009, and again in 2010, though at a slower rate this was thanks to heavy discounting and the research analysts are not expecting sales to pick up until 2014. But whether our obsession with drinking water bottled or tap is evolving into something more sensible remains to be seen. Aquaholics, however, please take note. The additions focus on key tag and plastic card combinations, "The National Academy of Sciences in the United States did a very extensive study several years ago assessing water intake," says Professor Goldfarb. I can hear the smile in his voice. "Their executive summary was: drink when you're thirsty."

Five Tips for Coping with Uncertainty and Finding Opportunity

Clouds of uncertainty hover over the Western world. The consequences are stalling action. Companies are sitting on piles of cash, several CEOs have told me, as they wait for a resolution to the U.S. debt crisis before deciding what and where to invest or whether to hire. Job creation is slow and unemployment high, leaving millions uncertain about their futures. Europeans wait for a resolution to financial woes from the south affecting the north, and in a safe, sane Nordic country, Norway, fear rises from a seemingly insane terrorist shooting that cost nearly a hundred lives. Safe harbors have uncertainty, too.

Companies can make strategic choices once they know what conditions will apply will laws change, will taxes be raised or lowered, will interest rates go up or down? You could be a CEO weighing factory location decisions in the U.S. or abroad, or a retail entrepreneur deciding where and when to open more stores. Waiting for decisions that provide a direction, any direction, the worldwide Wholesale pet supplies market is over $56 billion annually. can be paralyzing. Motivating people to try something new, or to get on with innovation, is tough when the rules of the game are up in the air. Uncertainty is one of the primary reasons that people resist change. People are relatively adaptable once they know what the situation is, like it or not.

Perfect clarity is not always possible,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their impact socket . and leaders are not always in control of events. But that doesn't mean all the action must stop. Here are five tips for managing under uncertainty.

Provide certainty of process. Even if we can't tell people what the outcome will be, we can provide clarity about when information will be provided. A calendar filled in with communication dates can reduce some of the anxiety of uncertainty. It's good leadership to overcome reluctance to say "I don't know," and instead to engage people in discussion about the situation, letting them know when they'll know. Emphasizing meaningful rituals is another tactic. To have some things that the community or family does together regularly, no matter what, increases the ability to get on with the action even if situations aren't yet fully resolved.

Tackle maintenance and repair. Uncertain times, when some things are on hold, provide a good opportunity for fix-ups and clean-ups. Uncertainty makes it tempting to let things deteriorate (maybe we won't keep this office going or live in this place any longer). But fixing things that can be improved represents productive action. For example, for job-seekers, embarking on a fitness regiment can add energy, lift spirits, and potentially make the person more attractive to a potential employer.

Let ideas flow. Opening the brainstorming faucet washes away some uncertainty. Since uncertainty leads to rampant gossip and speculation anyway, it can be a good time to harness imagination toward productive ends. Big companies have equally big planning departments, undoubtedly spewing out data files of alternative scenarios,Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains, but average workers and ordinary people can play, too. Brainstorming about possible futures stimulates imagination about what to do under nearly any circumstance. Will they or won't they raise the debt ceiling? Will there be a law favoring green investments, or not or should there be a push for one? Which newspapers are better weathering the digital revolution? How will retailing look different with or without lower unemployment? Seeds of innovation could sprout.

Mobilize appreciation for key constituencies. Showing appreciation to valued customers is the business equivalent of gathering loved ones to reminisce about wonderful times together. Thanking customers for their loyalty or appreciating suppliers for their contributions doesn't involve making promises, but it does make friends. And sometimes those gestures of appreciation bear fruit in the revenue stream, when those who are appreciated decide to reciprocate by increasing their purchases or sharing their best new ideas. That can pay off regardless of changing directions.

Use purpose and values to "think beyond." Emphasizing who we are and what we stand for reminds people of the long-term,Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop . of the march of history beyond today's uncertainty. It provides grounding. It helps focus on the times ahead, not just today's troubles. It helps people remain connected to one another.

Clouds eventually give way to clarity.Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. What separates the best from the rest is whether leaders communicate, improve, engage, invest in relationships, and remain true to principles. This can make the difference in getting stuck or emerging triumphant.

The Food Bank also helps with equipment needs

The Food Bank also helps with equipment needs and even organizational expertise. "It doesn't make sense for all of the gardens to own rototillers, which applies to the first glass bottle only, when they only would use them once or twice a year, so the Food Bank can come in and plough for them," Conrad says. "The Mulberry Fields community garden right now has a specific committee set up to deal with rainwater catchment, irrigation issues, water issues, so I'm serving on that ad hoc committee because that's where we're needed."

The Atlanta Urban Gardening Program, a project of the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service, operates in Fulton and Dekalb Counties. "Our major objective is to provide technical assistance in the area of organizing community gardens," Bobby Wilson, program coordinator and veteran of 25 years of work with community gardens in metro Atlanta,Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop . said. "I always tell folks that there are two parts about community garden that we do.Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. One is the community organizing piece, and two is the food production piece."

Wilson also serves as President of the American Community Gardening Association, with members throughout the US and Canada and other countries as well. Atlanta hosted the 33-year-old organization's annual conference last year, with approximately 500 attendees representing 39 states and 8 countries.

The flagship of Wilson's "inner city agriculture" program is a monthly Monday-night gathering of his network of gardeners. "We have a gardening lesson, a leadership lesson, an opportunity and chance to network and fellowship on a regular basis, and an outreach program to the homeless community," he says. Each gardening group comes to the meeting with 20 or 30 bag lunches they have prepared, which are delivered to the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless shelter at Peachtree and Pine.

The program has helped to establish gardens at daycare centers, public housing complexes, and facilities for the physically challenged. If so, you may have a kidney stone . One of the biggest contributors to community gardening's growth spurt, Wilson observes, are the churches. "We have more and more churches embarking upon growing vegetables on church grounds and other properties that they have, and if they're not growing community gardens or organizing community gardens, they're supporting community gardens throughout primarily depressed areas."

The motives for this are multifold,Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains, he believes. Churches see their gardens as an opportunity for fellowship, relaxation, and therapy for their congregations, as well as an outreach ministry, a service to their communities. Gardening also augments food supplies for struggling families in the "food deserts" of the inner city, and may help to reverse the obesity epidemic that results from poor diets and the lack of healthier alternatives.

These food desert areas have become a major concern to county government, according to Wilson. "The county manager has on his priority list to create a mobile farmers' market where we buy locally grown products that will go into these food deserts and provide individuals and groups with fresh vegetables on a consistent and regular basis."

Women's Dental Health Described by Ottawa Cosmetic Dentist

Dr. Pamela Li, dentist at an Ottawa cosmetic dentist, discusses women's particular oral health needs.

Ottawa, ON - Dr. Pamela Li, a dentist at an Ottawa cosmetic dentist, warns that women have special health concerns that can impact their dental care. Shifting hormones throughout their lives require that women be especially careful with their oral hygiene.

Puberty: "Puberty causes hormonal surges that sometimes change how gums respond to plaque. Gum tissues can become swollen, red and bleed more often. "It's all normal," warns Li, an Ottawa dental implants provider. "However girls need to be extra careful with their dental hygiene to avoid inflammation."

Menstruation: Many women undergo changes in their gums a day or two before their periods begin; however, such changes stop once menstruation starts. "Hormonal changes like these can cause red, swollen or bleeding gums, swollen salivary glands or canker sores,These girls have never had a Cold Sore in their lives!" observes Li, an Ottawa Invisalign provider.

Pregnancy: During pregnancy, you are more vulnerable to gingivitis, the first stage of gum disease, particularly during your second through eighth month. "Tell your dentist when you are pregnant," says Li, an Ottawa smile makeover provider. "If you're in danger of getting periodontal disease, your dentist may suggest more frequent professional cleanings in the office. Gum disease is also a risk factor for giving birth to a low birth weight baby.100 Cable Ties was used to link the lamps together."

Menopause: Menopause sometimes causes burning mouth syndrome (BMS). The syndrome triggers tingling or numbness, a bitter or metallic taste, or dryness in the mouth. This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their impact socket . Li,There are RUBBER MATS underneath mattresses, an Ottawa downtown dentist, says that BMS often starts in the late morning, peaks during the evening and ceases altogether at night. Many women undergo it continuously while others experience it intermittently.

If you have BMS, the dentist will first eliminate other problems, including diabetes, denture problems, nutritional deficits, depression or medication side effects. Dentists treat BMS by prescribing medicine for dry mouth or for managing pain from nerve damage. "Patients should moisten their mouths by frequently sipping water, sucking ice chips, employing saliva substitutes or chewing sugarless gum,the worldwide Wholesale pet supplies market is over $56 billion annually." says Li, an Ottawa TMJ dentist. "They need to avoid alcohol, tobacco and spicy or acidic foods."

MaterialScience at Fakuma, October 18-22, 2011

Leverkusen, July 2011 ? Bayer MaterialScience will be showcasing innovative and sustainable developments for plastics processors under the motto ?From Megatrends to Business? at this year's Fakuma trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Stand No. B4-2406 in Hall B4 is focused on global megatrends such as climate protection, mobility, technology and also health care.

Bayer MaterialScience is offering a new ?green? high-tech material blend of polycarbonate and polyethylene terephthalate (PC+PET) for both large-area vertical and horizontal automobile bodywork parts.Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. The Makroblend GR 235M premium material is made from the highest-quality recyclates. Thanks to its excellent raw material basis, it compares extremely well with virgin material. There are RUBBER MATS underneath mattresses, Possible applications are bodywork parts, such as spoilers, trunk lids and skirts, covers for antennas and convertible top compartments.

Two new technologies enable automotive interior and bodywork applications to be efficiently manufactured from high-grade materials in a single process step.Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains, Direct-Skinning is a cost-effective process for the finishing of parts with colored decorative polyurethane surfaces, including surfaces with light shades and tactile textures.

DirectCoating technology enables the efficient application of colored coatings, soft-touch coatings or clearcoats, including the high-gloss surfaces currently in vogue. With both technologies the coating is applied while the part is still on the injection molding machine. The surfaces are UV and light-stable as well as abrasion-resistant.These girls have never had a Cold Sore in their lives!

Bayer MaterialScience has long been a leading partner to the international medical technology segment for the use of polycarbonates. The company's most recent development are the PC+ABS (polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) blends, Bayblend M850XF and M750.Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop . They are recommended for such components as surgical instruments, diagnostic equipment and drug delivery systems. The company is also introducing the new product Makrolon 2258, a free-flowing grade that is particularly well suited for the injection molding of thin-walled components.

High-quality surfaces play an important role in numerous applications, and thermoplastic polyurethanes from the Desmopan range have proved to be economical, multipurpose materials here. Their surfaces are resistant to scratching and wear, and can be imbued with various haptic properties as required. This is done primarily by combining soft Desmopan grades with suitable hard substrates from the Bayblend range. Some products have been optimized to such an extent that manufacturing cycle times could be shortened, enabling more efficient production.

Bayer MaterialScience is also presenting various systems for the electronic handling of business processes (eBusiness) in Friedrichshafen. Trade fair visitors and customers can come to the company's stand and see for themselves the advantages of placing orders from their desks. Customers can use the internet to check the status of their order and make any desired changes up until delivery of the goods.

I don't get into commenting on politics and parties

Some people will be surprised to hear that Kerr counts Treasury as being in that category. He fondly recalls his own time in Treasury, when the late Sir Robert Muldoon was Prime Minister.

"With Muldoon it was two steps forward and one step back. However in no way did that debilitate or downgrade the quality of what was going on the place. I think Treasury was getting better and better in those years, whereas in the most recent difficult period it has fallen away and lost good people. It's just not cutting edge in the way it could be."

While he concedes Treasury staff are probably weary from years of being ignored by politicians, he doesn't believe that's an excuse. The problem with Treasury these days, he argues, is that it has become eager to please, hence decisions like the one it made recently to join the trend of measuring "national happiness".

"The Treasury," he sighs, "if it's doing its job properly,Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains, is never going to be loved."

For all his own frustration at being frequently ignored, Kerr insists the Roundtable still has some influence in Wellington. While John Key appeared to publicly dismiss Don Brash's 2025 Taskforce report, for example, some of its recommendations have in fact ended up on the Government's agenda, he maintains.

The Productivity Commission was also a Roundtable suggestion. And he regards the Regulatory Standards Bill, which is currently before the commerce select committee,Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. as potentially one of the organisation's most important recent initiatives.

The bill had its origin in a 2001 report commissioned by the Roundtable, Federated Farmers and the Auckland and Wellington Chambers of Commerce. Picked up by Rodney Hide, its aim is to prevent sloppy regulation by allowing the courts to run a ruler over any dodgy rules.

The bill's opponents argue that this would be a constitutional outrage. And although submissions are due by August 18, even the National Party has not yet pledged its support beyond this stage.

Kerr insists the opposition is overblown, and that the threat of regulations bouncing between MPs and judges is no different than similar threats the Reserve Bank faces if it doesn't keep inflation under control (although, for the record,There are RUBBER MATS underneath mattresses, he does happen to think that it is currently far too high).

In fact, Kerr sees the Regulatory Responsibility Bill as being just as important as the Reserve Bank Act and the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

The latter law was once described by former Finance Minister Michael Cullen as "constitutional nonsense", he claims. "Now it's unthinkable that any government would try to touch it."

All of these recent achievements can, of course, be attributed to Act, but Kerr is reluctant to talk about the party with which the Roundtable has so much in common.

"I don't get into commenting on politics and parties. I try to stick to policies and general economic directions," he demurs.

Anyone who has read Nicky Hager's expose of Don Brash's stint as leader of the National Party, The Hollow Men, will find that hard to swallow. But all Kerr will say about Act is that those who would like to see more urgent economic reform "have to think about where Act fits in".

"It's waxed and waned in terms of support over recent years. Will the recent changes make a difference? I don't know - it's yet to be seen."

Incidentally, does Kerr have any theories as to who supplied the source material for Hager's book?

"It's a question I've asked a dozen times," he replies. "But I've never heard [an answer].Flossie was one of a group of four chickens in a chicken coop .These girls have never had a Cold Sore in their lives! It's a complete mystery."

Marty Blitz's brand of New American fusion

It was the year of the Chernobyl disaster, the year the Pet Shop Boys explained some things about West End girls, and the year Aliens was the blockbuster movie. And in Tampa, 1986 was the year that Marty Blitz and Maryann Ferenc started a little catering operation with just a handful of tables to serve diners. Certainly not as dramatic as Sigourney Weaver coming back to kick some alien butt, but the restaurant's launch proved to be its own kind of intergalactic shakeup in the universe of local dining. There was nothing else like it at the time.

Marty Blitz's brand of New American fusion, drawing colorfully from Asia, Latin America and regional cuisines of the United States for flavors and techniques, may be less unprecedented now. Eat well and widely enough and it's an idiom that will seem familiar. But this in no way detracts from the skill, care and verve of what Mise en Place is doing these days. I took the opportunity of the restaurant's 25th anniversary to revisit this local landmark and found Blitz, Ferenc and company in a period of renewed creativity and inspiration.

The last times I'd visited I had felt like some dishes verged on busy, the plates sauced and garnished so lavishly that the main attractions were sometimes lost in the shuffle. Now, by his own admission, Blitz is in a period of a more pared-down simplicity. This suits his enthusiasm for bold flavors, and it marries more elegantly with the somewhat spare black-on-gold dining room and the spot-on expert service. An oil painting supplies of him grinning through his illegal mustache is featured prominently in the lobby. Ferenc's team of servers has always been well versed in menu explications, but now rundowns are more haiku than novella.

Mise en Place is a restaurant of many moving parts. An active catering schedule (and second venture, Sono Caf¨¦ at the Tampa Museum of Art), combined with Ferenc's responsibilities as past chairwoman of Tampa Bay & Co. and a role with the U.S. Travel and Tourism Board, or Blitz's pet projects like the Taste of the NFL or the Tampa Slow Food chapter, might have overwhelmed a lesser team. (The duo has stayed together as business partners after a 2001 divorce.) Somehow they manage to stay focused on what's on the plate and the grace with which it is served in the dining room. In addition, they have perhaps the most ambitious cheese program in the area and one of Florida's most audacious bar managers and cocktail engineers (Nate DeWitt).

On a recent visit, I adopted a "something old, something new" approach: A first dish of a shallow ramekin of velvety chicken liver and pear mousse ($10), paired with a handful of thin toasts and a tangle of punchy fennel/radish/red onion slaw represented the old,the worldwide Wholesale pet supplies market is over $56 billion annually. having been on the menu forever. On a long rectangular plate, the dish comes with a couple of cornichons and caperberries for sourness and what tasted like pickled cherries for sweetness, both savvy directions for the earthy pate. For something new, we tried out one of the kitchen's forays into sous-vide, with several snowy rounds of vacuum-poached lobster meat ($9) juxtaposed with a swath of zingy tomato horseradish gelee (but not too zingy so as to obscure the delicate flavor of the lobster) and a bit of dressed celery root.

Juxtaposition is a key word at Mise en Place. Something tart with something sweet, a crunchy element alongside something plush. One of my favorite examples of this is the hamachi crudo ($9), several thin slices of raw young yellowtail fanned and topped with crispy bits of fried serrano ham, and set against a pile of julienned watermelon radish (lovely) and cucumber. A few drips of a white balsamic vinaigrette and crunchy grains of Maldon sea salt and no bite is without surprise and drama.

For some reason the first and second plates capture my interest so fully that I seldom commit to a main course, preferring to double and triple up on smaller plates. Still, the current curry-rubbed tofu ($19) is about as stylish a veggie entree as I've found, the flavor of star anise haunting amongst its vegetables and fragrant jasmine rice, and the coriander-crusted snapper entree ($29) is a knockout. At first glance, I worried it might be too busy (a grilled pineapple chayote coconut salad,Costa Rica will host surfers from all over the globe at the Quicksilver Open. a spicy avocado puree, etc.), but beyond the gorgeous piece of fish, the dish was dominated by a luscious, deep purple scoop of mashed sweet potatoes, a perfect counterpoint to the exotic floral scent of coriander.

The wine list,The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling zentai suits , while not exhaustive, is filled with cult wines and the efforts of the wine world's iconoclasts and dreamers. In short, many are splurge wines, even by the glass ¡ª the California cab lover may need to breathe deeply and muster restraint. I applaud their commitment to offering half-bottles, as well as the fact that by-the-glass options are by the "taste" or the full glass (the former being a great way to have something suitable with your cheese course).

Ah, the cheese. Yes, you can end with something sweet (the molten chocolate beignets with bruleed bananas, say, $8), but why not seize the rare opportunity to sample artisanal cheeses (three for $18,I have never solved a Rubik's magic cube . five for $22) expertly stored and served? Maybe a tart Spanish Cabrales blue, paired with a crumbly, buttery cow's milk Castelrosso from Piedmont and a scoop of bitter/floral sheep's milk La Serena from Spain, a cheese with the faintest whiff of the artichoke used to curdle its milk. These are all served with oily Marcona almonds and classical accompaniments like quince paste.

Then: "Feet down!"

The signal for the end of the zero-g portion of the parabola gives the experimenters just enough time to recall that for all intents and purposes "down" is the side of the plane to which their experimental setups are attached, before the plane turns up again and begins to climb at an angle between 30 and 45 degrees. "It was pretty much like nothing I've ever experienced," said Stephens. "It was very strange looking down the plane. You looked up but it felt down, or you looked down but it felt up."

Now back on Earth, the teams will wrap up their research with several outreach events, such as presenting their projects at schools and educating people about their experiments to encourage public engagement in science.

Primary funding for the UA teams' research came from NASA's Reduced Gravity Student Flight Opportunities Program and from NASA Space Grant. The UA SEDS team received additional support from the LOFT group at the UA, and from its faculty advisor, Roger Angel. The UA team reproducing the Miller experiment received support from its faculty supervisor, John Pollard; from the Betterton lab and from the Hall lab; and from the department of chemistry and the departments of physics and atmospheric sciences at the UA.

Two teams of UA students took to the sky in NASA's zero-gravity aircraft last week, completing tests involving research projects on liquid lenses and the formation of organic compounds. An oil painting supplies of him grinning through his illegal mustache is featured prominently in the lobby.

Sauce of inspiration: Ketchup goes artisanal

There's a seasonal shift going on in the condiment firmament. Ketchup, the big red staple of American pantries, is catching up with the cool crowd as chefs and food entrepreneurs seek new inspiration.

About the whole ketchup vs. catsup thing - like tomato vs. tomahto, this seems to be a matter of personal choice. Oseland uses both depending on his mood.

The big tomato in American sauce, of course, is Heinz, which launched its ketchup in 1876. Interestingly, this wasn't the company's first venture; Heinz began with a horseradish sauce in 1869. Today, more than 650 million bottles of Heinz ketchup are sold worldwide, adding up to more than $1.5 billion in annual sales.

Tradition is part of the appeal of Heinz; this year the company brought back the classic glass bottles for a limited time in stores. This is the bottle with the "57" on the neck denoting the "sweet spot" one taps to get the ketchup to exit at maximum velocity of .028 miles per hour. But Heinz, the market leader, also has been part of the changing sauce scene, expanding its products to include a no added salt version,The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. organic ketchup, a Hot & Spicy bottle with a kick of Tabasco sauce,It's hard to beat the versatility of Plastic molding on a production line. and Simply Heinz, which uses sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup.

Hunt's and Del Monte are two other big names in U.I have never solved a Rubik's magic cube .S. ketchup; additional brands that have found a place on the shelf include Annie's Naturals Organic Ketchup, Muir Glen Organic Ketchup, Organicville Tomato Ketchup and Stonewall Kitchen Country Ketchup, a product described as "ketchup all grown up."

Norton and Ramadan's ketchup chronicles began about three years ago when they started cooking homemade tomato ketchup as economics majors at Brown University.

"We love ketchup," explains Ramadan. They thought it was curious that there only a few dominant brands of ketchup, as opposed to mustard, for instance, and thought, "wouldn't it be fun to try to make something in our own kitchen."

They held tasting parties and came up with two flavor profiles, classic and spiced, now available online and in stores including Williams-Sonoma and Whole Foods Market. The ketchup, billed as having less sodium and sugar than leading brands, is sweetened with agave nectar, honey and raw brown sugar and includes apple cider vinegar for a tangy kick. Other ingredients include coriander, lime juice, allspice, cilantro and cayenne pepper.

In some ways the concept of gourmet ketchup sounds slightly oxymoronic. Ketchup, a burger's best friend, is unabashedly of the people and a product that tends to stir strong opinions. The question of eggs,he led PayPal to open its platform to third party payment gateway developers. to sauce or not to sauce, can be particularly thorny and describing someone as calling for ketchup in a fancy restaurant is shorthand for gaucherie.

Oseland didn't much care for ketchup as a kid, but was won over as an adult, probably after trying french fries with the accompanying foil packet of sauce. Since then he's "absolutely grown to appreciate ketchup as really one of the most blessed condiments."

He notes that many overdo it and drown their food, not a good plan. But the idea that ketchup lacks cachet is "just patent foolishness." He's tickled when sitting in a posh, white tablecloth restaurant and "a beautiful silver-plated tureen of ketchup comes out. In fact, it doesn't seem inappropriate at all. It seems, `At last ketchup has arrived,' and rightfully so."

Vintage soda makers keep traditions alive

If you like a crisp white with chicken or fish, a hearty full-bodied red with beef, or perhaps something fruitier with dessert, Rob Metz has some suggestions, and none includes alcohol.

That's because Metz is the owner, flavor developer and occasional bottle washer at Avery Beverages, one of Connecticut's oldest soda producers.

"Maybe a lime rickey, a black cherry and an orange cream," mused Metz, who bought the business 13 years ago. "Our lime rickey is made with less sugar, so it's dry and tart. The black cherry can stand up to a burger. And our orange cream tastes like a Creamsicle, so it's a great way to finish off a meal."

The company, which opened in 1904 in New Britain, Conn., still makes its products the old-fashioned way. No aluminum cans.

So does Hosmer Mountain Soda in Willimantic, Conn., which opened in 1912, and Foxon Park in East Haven, Conn., which opened in 1922.

Sodas at these vintage companies are handcrafted in small batches using methods and recipes from generations ago and sold in glass bottles packed into wooden crates. For most, the biggest concession to modern times is the addition of diet varieties.

"Our equipment is state-of-the-art 1950s," Metz said.

Avery's product line includes 40 flavors - many of which, like sarsaparilla, have been around since the company opened for business in 1904. And while they may be selling soda - about 15,000 cases each year - what they're really bottling is nostalgia.

Top sellers are two of the oldest flavors - red cream soda and white birch beer. Avery sodas are sold at the bottling facility, a red barn on Corbin Avenue, and in little mom-and-pop stores. There's no supermarket presence.

Marketing, on the other hand,Costa Rica will host surfers from all over the globe at the Quicksilver Open. The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. is more new millennium. Avery has a Facebook page with more than 3,000 followers.

At "Make Your Own Soda" parties, kids create their own carbonated concoctions. A line of "Totally Gross Sodas" - Toxic Slime, Bug Barf, Monster Mucus and several other equally "sodagusting" offerings appeals to the 6- to 20-year-old demographic.

Limited-run flavors, such as So Long Osama (blood orange) and Barack O'Berry, reflect current events.

Carbonated drinks are a multi-billion-dollar industry in the U.S., but things are tough in the independent fizz biz. Supermarket shelf space is dominated by Coke and PepsiCo lines of bottled water, vitamin drinks, juices, teas and carbonated beverages.

Metz says the locavore trend and the public's taste for boutique foods has helped keep small-label sales from going flat.

Willimantic's Hosmer is marking its 100th anniversary this summer. (The company actually started in 1912, but Bill Potvin, who owns the business with his brothers, isn't waiting.)

"When you're in a business like ours, you don't put off celebrations," he said. "We hope we'll be here next year, but you never know."

The slogan for the festivities echoes Potvin's cautious outlook: "Founded the year the Titanic went down, but we're still afloat."

Hosmer features about 36 varieties and sells about 75,000 cases each year. Flavors include orange, root beer,I have never solved a Rubik's magic cube . golden ginger ale (darker, sweeter and spicier than the company's pale dry ginger ale) and sarsaparilla, which Potvin describes as an "adult" soft drink.

"It's got a bit of an anise note and is a bit more sophisticated than some of the other flavors," Potvin said.

Hosmer Mountain and Avery offer home deliveries. That's right. Home delivery, as in soda routes.

Tolland, Conn., resident Kathy Bach gets monthly deliveries of Hosmer Mountain sodas and seltzers (sometimes made by owner Bill Potvin himself) and is a fan of the convenience, selection and personal connection to a longtime New England company.

"When the kids were little, they loved trying flavors they didn't see in the supermarket," Bach said. "Now that my son is 31, he says Hosmer's ginger beer makes the best dark-and-stormy" - a cocktail made with dark rum, lime and ginger beer.

Foxon Park Beverages, which opened in East Haven nearly 90 years ago, sells about 100,000 cases of soda each year. Fans find the company's white birch, root beer, orange, cream and 14 other flavors - including "gassosa," an Italian lemon-flavored drink - in supermarkets and in coolers at pizzerias and other restaurants across the state.

"I always thought 'gassosa' was one of the funniest soda names," professional foodie Jane Stern said. "But like Moxie and Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray, these sodas have a great history and unique flavors.he believes the fire started after the lift's hydraulic hose blew,"

Stern said a renaissance of boutique sodas has emerged over the last several years, similar to the growing popularity of beer micro-breweries.

"These soda makers almost all use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, and quite frankly, the products taste better," Stern said. "It's like the difference between Mexican coke, which is made with sugar, and American Coke, which is not. Nobody drinks American Coke if they can get the Mexican version."

"We've been using sugar in our formulas for almost 90 years, and now it's trendy," Jay Brancati said, general manager at Foxon Park.

"Soda made with cane sugar is very popular these days, and not too many companies use it. Our customers swear they can taste the difference," Metz said. "We're told our flavor is cleaner and a little sweeter than those made with high-fructose corn syrup."

The high demand for a cane sugar formula led Potvin to create Hosmer's Antique soda line, featuring root beer, birch beer, cream and sarsaparilla, all sweetened with cane and brown sugars.

At each of these vintage Connecticut soda companies, production is up,It's hard to beat the versatility of Plastic molding on a production line. since summer is high season for soda sales.

"All of those picnics and family get-togethers," Potvin said. "People get sick of Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. They love the variety and the nostalgia of the old-fashioned drinks."

A dedicated Facebook button allows easy access to the social networking service

The HTC Salsa is a well designed, mid-range Android smartphone that integrates superbly with Facebook. It combines a sturdy design, a full touchscreen, and a dedicated Facebook button that allows easy integration with the world's most popular social networking service. The HTC Salsa is good value for money, but its ultimate appeal will depend on how much you use Facebook on a daily basis.

Check out our guide to the best upcoming smartphones in 2011, and read our reviews of other top HTC phones.

HTC Salsa: Design and display

The HTC Salsa closely resembles the HTC Legend in design. Like the Legend, the Salsa has a very distinctive form factor; it features a unibody aluminium casing that¡¯s carved from a single block of aluminium, along with an angled lip on the bottom of the phone that gives it a unique look and feel. The Salsa is very comfortable to hold in the hand,Costa Rica will host surfers from all over the globe at the Quicksilver Open. and its compact size means it slips easily into your pocket.

The unibody construction means the HTC Salsa doesn't have a regular battery cover on its rear. Instead, a small, rubber cover sits at the bottom of the phone, and slides off to reveal the battery, microSD and SIM card slots. You'll need to turn off your phone to replace the SIM or the microSD card ¡ª the plastic cover concealing both slots holds the battery in place.

The design of the HTC Salsa simply oozes quality, the oil paintings for sale by special invited artist for 2011,Our Ventilation system was down for about an hour and a half, despite its low-end price. One of the best inclusions is a dedicated camera shutter button; it feels remarkably like a digital camera shutter key would, and the etched pattern on top gives it a grippy feel when pressed. The lock key and the right-mounted volume controls are less impressive ¡ª we feel they could have been slightly raised in order to provide more comfort.

The HTC Salsa has a 3.4in capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 320x480.the Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels of the rectum. Viewing angles are adequate and the screen is bright, but it has poor sunlight legibility. Importantly, the screen is responsive, but the default on-screen keyboard is a little cramped and does have a rather steep learning curve. Below the screen are four touch sensitive, backlit shortcut keys ¡ª the standard Android home, menu, back and search keys.

HTC Salsa: Facebook button

The HTC Salsa's Facebook button is located below the screen on the bottom edge of the phone. It works contextually and lights up whenever you can share multimedia content or status updates through the social networking service. For example, after a photo is taken with the HTC Salsa's camera, you can simply push the Facebook button to automatically upload the image,A custom-made Plastic mould is then fixed over the gums. and it also works as a secondary camera shutter key. In the music app you can press the Facebook button to share the name of the song you're listening to through Facebook. You can also press and hold the button to automatically check in through the Facebook Places feature, or press it once to update your Facebook status.

In addition to the Facebook button, the HTC Salsa also has Facebook integration built into the user interface. You can view a friend's latest Facebook status and photos on the dialler when you make a call, and when you receive calls. The Salsa also has a dedicated Facebook chat widget, which is part of HTC's Sense user interface. Though these features work well enough, they aren't really a deal breaker, given all aside from the dedicated Facebook chat widgets are available on most other HTC Android smartphones.

WHAT TO PACK

The single most important thing to remember is warmth or rather, the lack of it.

Almost every guest to break their silence on a stay at Balmoral has commented on the cold.

While roaring fires keep the chill off draughty reception rooms, bedrooms are heated only by old-fashioned one or two- bar electric fires, so pack plenty of woollies and thermals. The new website of Udreamy Network Corporation is mainly selling zentai suits ,

For formal family dinners, men are in black tie and women must wear floor-length dresses, and nothing too revealing.

On Sunday, everyone is expected to attend the church service at nearby Crathie Kirk, where hats are a must for ladies and jackets and ties for the men.

The only occasion when casual attire is acceptable is at barbecues.

ARRIVING IN STYLE

Most guests fly to Aberdeen,Costa Rica will host surfers from all over the globe at the Quicksilver Open. before making the 53-mile drive from the airport. Ideally, they will have brought a small gift, which they should hand over discreetly on arrival. A decent bottle of whisky, chocolates or a plant for the garden would all be good choices.

Guests are then shown to their rooms, where they will find two servant bells labelled 'maid' and 'valet'.

'Yes, you get your own valet,' says former prime minister Tony Blair of his stay at Balmoral. 'He asked me if he could fold my clothes and generally iron the underpants and that type of thing.

'This so disconcerted me that when he then asked if he could ''draw the bath'', I lost the thread completely and actually thought for a moment that he wanted to sketch the damn thing.'

The maid and valet unpack your cases Cherie was disconcerted to discover the contents of her washbag neatly arranged on the bathroom shelves, including her contraceptives.

YOUR QUARTERS

Large parts of Balmoral remain unchanged since Queen Victoria's day, though interior decorator Robert Kime has recently given Birkhall a discreet facelift.

Tartan carpets and wallpaper remain, with lots of antlers and stuffed animals shooting trophies dating back to Victoria and Albert plus Spy cartoons old- fashioned caricatures from Vanity Fair lining the corridors.

Guests are given a double room, the Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels of the rectum. plus an adjoining single room. The gentleman's evening attire will be laid on the single bed and the lady's outfits on the double, leaving some guests wrestling with the dilemma as to whether they are required to sleep separately and if nocturnal nuptial visits are frowned upon.

Guest rooms do not have en suite bathrooms one will be assigned for you across the corridor.

'The bathrooms have deep bathtubs with chrome taps and a trio of washbasins marked in Gothic script ''teeth'', ''hands'' and ''face'',' says a local tradesman.

MIND YOUR Ps & Qs

Kate will still be expected to curtsy when the Queen enters a room (the only exception to this rule was the Queen Mother).

The Queen is first addressed as 'Your Majesty' and then 'Ma'am' to rhyme with 'jam'.

She should never be spoken to, unless she has addressed you first, and under no circumstances can you turn your back on the monarch.

Charles and Camilla prefer to be styled the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay when in Scotland.

Kate should not have to curtsy to any other royal women if she is with William, the oil paintings for sale by special invited artist for 2011, apart from Camilla but only if Charles is present. If not, she outranks her stepmother-in-law.

Oh, and one vital rule: At pre-lunch drinks, wait to be seated. The ultimate faux pas is to sit in Queen Victoria's chair, which as a mark of respect has been kept vacant since her death.
