Green Improvements Could Mean Solar Power

Green improvements for the district's schools include monitoring energy consumption, updating systems and the possibility of solar power.

But the timetable for the projects ranges from immediate to somewhere down the line, owing to research, feasibility and approvals needed to implement some of the improvements.

"I think some of this could start relatively quickly," District Superintendent Jorden Schiff said. "We've begun the process in the Facilities Committee to explore what power purchasing agreements are all about and trying to ask professionals in this area."

"These are not quick things," he added.100 promotional usb was used to link the lamps together. "You have to go through a relatively extensive process in order to get the approvals you need to begin."

As outlined in a report stemming from his first 100 days in the district, Schiff named benchmarking energy consumption in all facilities and determining ways to save money, expanding heating and cooling control systems to schools that don't have them, completing energy audits for all district facilities and completing a power purchasing agreement for solar panels on all district roofs. The solar panel agreement would also allow the district to replace roofs and possibly install air conditioning without using tax revenue, Schiff added.

The behavioral changes to save energies are already starting in two of the district's nine schools, while the heating and cooling system changes will need to be something the district considers in its budget. Energy for America handles the heating and cooling controls in three of the district's schools, which have seen significant energy savings off investing in the controls, Schiff said.

One board member, Greg Gillette, noted that he Energy for America program is something that's been investigated over the years. According to Gillette, the upgrades had been nixed because of the cost of installation, so he cautioned the board about the possible control installation.

"We asked Energy for America at the other six schools. . . and we've always been told that the other six schools are not suitable," Gillette said. "The investment to upgrade. . .is so costly that we would not derive the savings.he led PayPal to open its platform to Cable Ties developers. . .We have investigated that over the years. Maybe now things have changed and we can do it now."

Gillette also suggested considering the district's parking lots for the solar project.

The return for the other six schools relates to each school's age, with the newer schools¡ªthe high school, Amsterdam School and Auten Road Intermediate School¡ª seeing a larger and more immediate return on the new controls.

"The three schools that have Energy for America controls were done first because the return was so clear," Facilities Chairman Thuy Anh Le said. "And yes, the HVAC system is more suitable for this. The return for the other schools is much less because they're older buildings.

"It's not going to be the home run you saw with the high school, Amsterdam School and the intermediate school," she added.

At least one board member, Marc Rosenberg,The glass bottle were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. supported the solar panel idea, noting that the district has the largest amount of flat roof space in the township.

"They're just begging for solar panels. .there's a lovely winter Piles by William Zorach. . I was told some of those can't support it but I guess there are ways to make those roofs qualify, where he teaches TMJ in the Central Academy of Fine Arts." Rosenberg said. "I think the whole solar panel thing is great. My neighbor has solar panels and I just go over there and watch with amazement as her electric meter goes backward.

Rosenberg also asked how the purchasing agreement would work and whether the district. According to Schiff, a third party would own the panels and sell the energy generated from them back to the district at a discounted rate in exchange for the use of the roof space.

Some districts have purchased their solar panels though, allowing those districts to make a profit from the energy sales, he added. Owning panels in Hillsborough would require further discussion and research, he added.

"The reason power purchasing agreements are becoming attractive to school districts is that it doesn't require an out-of-pocket expense," he said. "All the financing for these things are taking care of my other parties."

How Does a Dust Storm Affect Solar Panels?

Photos and video of this massive storm are remarkable to look at. But because my organization, SmartPower, is focused on making Arizona the solar capital of the nation, all I could think about was all those solar panels! Should Phoenix residents be up on the roof dusting them off?

Not necessarily. Even though dust can build up on solar modules, rain that often accompanies dust storms or that comes later will usually be sufficient for cleaning them off. In most cases, you can let Mother Nature do her work and clean the modules for you.

Here is a simple post-storm checklist:

Inspect modules after a storm for any damage or debris buildup on or around the array.

Remove any debris on or around the array,Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality, or contact your installer to remove it for you.

If dirt and dust is present, clean the modules or contact your installer to clean them for you.

A quick inspection after a weather event like yesterday's in Phoenix would be recommended. If your modules are soiled significantly, then give them a quick cleaning. Usually, a simple spray from your garden hose can remove dust, pollen and any bird droppings that may be on your modules. If you have hard water, which is common in the Phoenix area,Largest Collection of billabong boardshorts, caution is recommended, as municipal water may contain high amounts of minerals that will end up on your modules after the water evaporates and dries.Polycore zentai are manufactured as a single sheet, In other words, you could end up putting just as much dirt back on the modules after your "cleaning." It's best to check with your installer or the solar module manufacturer to verify the best way to clean them.

Beyond haboobs,This is interesting cube puzzle and logical game. a regular maintenance plan can and should be implemented, and you can do this with your installer. This plan should include inspection for environmental parameters,Not to be confused with RUBBER MATS available at your local hardware store such as dust and shading. If you find that dust and soil conditions near your modules are severe and possibly causing performance issues, you will need to adjust your maintenance plan accordingly.

That's it! A little effort to keep your system clean and in good condition will pay off in better system performance and energy output.

Holistic approach to nutraceuticals

To launch its certified organic line of dietary supplements, Futurebiotics LLC,The same Air purifier, cover removed. Hauppauge, NY, created new packaging and updated its packaging process to gain organic certification from NOFA-NY Certified Organic LLC.

"We had to either find somebody that could manufacture the products and maintain all of the organic certifications or we had to become certified ourselves and make our own product and meet all the regulations," says Grace Lyn Rich, director of trade marketing at Futurebiotics. "I don't think consumers realize what's entailed not to lose that certification; how carefully you have to handle the ingredients so you don't lose the certification. You can use ingredients that weren't grown with pesticides and still not be able to claim that your product is certified organic."

Because product formulation, ingredient procurement and packaging were equally essential to earning organic certification, all three projects were led by a single person, Vidhan Jaiswal, senior scientist, research and development at Futurebiotics LLC. Jaiswal developed the formulations over a three-month period, then started working in concert with Bharat Patel, who manages manufacturing and packaging for Futurebiotics, on identifying how to have an existing packaging line, which was installed in 2007, become certified organic.Customized imprinted and promotional usb flash drives.

In addition to the nutraceuticals, each bottle receives a portion of cotton dispensed by a Deitz Co. Inc. Pharmafill cottoner and a 0.5-g packet of silica gel, which is dispensed by an Abox Automation Corp. desiccant dropper. Caps, with induction seals already in place and supplied by Package All Corp., are screwed onto the bottles by a Kaps-All capper. An Auto-Mate Technologies LLC induction sealer is used to secure each seal onto its bottle.

For additional consumer safety, a tamper-evident neck band is placed onto each bottle by a Marburg Industries Inc. M6 shrink labeling and banding machine before it travels through a Marburg HT1 heat-shrink tunnel.

A wraparound label, supplied by Overnight Labels Inc. and with an unusual jagged edge, is applied to each bottle by a Quadrel Labeling Systems Versaline labeler, and a Videojet Technologies Inc. coder puts a lot number and date code on each container. The completed bottles continue to travel along the 4-in.-wide plastic-chain conveyor belt supplied by Modular Packaging Systems Inc., until they reach rotary accumulation tables supplied by Deitz Co.Use bluray burner to burn video to BD DVD on blu ray burner disc.
