Stolen Car, Shoplifting, Domestic Assault and Broken Bottles

A 17-year-old Newport girl was arrested around 2:36 a.m. on Saturday for felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony drug possession, and driving without a license.

Police saw the girl driving with no headlights on and pulled her over. She had a passenger in the car who was also underage, who was later released.

At first she told police she left her license at home, but later admitted to not having on at all. She said the car was her mother’s and she had taken it without permission while she was sleeping. They took the car to 7-Eleven to something to eat, she said.

She also admitted to taking three Vicodin pills from her mother before leaving. She was taken to the station and her mother arrived and confirmed the pills were hers.

Two Men Arrested for Shoplifting from Walmart

Andrey Ivanov, 21, of 30 Bellevue Ave., Newport, and Rustom Ilmanov, 20, of the same address, were arrested around 11:21 p.m. on Friday for larceny shoplifting.

Once they were detained, the employee also found they tried to conceal a bathing suit, power cord, and earphones.

Newport Man Arrested for Domestic Assault

Newport Man Arrested for Breaking Glass Bottles in the Street

Nikita K. Wilcox, 19, of 20 Beacon Hill Road, Newport, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday for disorderly conduct.

Police responded to a report of a group breaking glass bottles in the street. Officers detained five people, and two witnesses identified them as the group breaking the bottles.

Wilcox claimed primary responsibility for breaking the bottle in front of the witnesses house.
